What you can do to make a difference as a part of the Captive Animals Protection Society's campaign to end canned lion hunting in South Africa:

Add our voice to ending the South African canned lion hunts and support the call for legislation to be created so that no previously captured, captive kept or captive-raised big cat can be hunted by trophy hunters in the provinces of South Africa.

If this were achieved, the overwhelming majority of lion hunting would end in South Africa.

We urge you to write to The South African Tourist Board (SATOUR) satour@icon.za, stating that you will consider boycotting South Africa as a holiday destination for as long as canned big cat hunts continue to take place in the country.

Write to:

Mr. Moss Mashishi
Executive Director South African Tourist Board
email: mossm@iafrica.com

or phone them:

Please also write to the President of South Africa, asking him to please outlaw canned trophy hunting in South Africa:

Lastly, if you are planning to visit South Africa, and oppose trophy hunting, make sure that prior to your visit, the game reserves or National Parks that you intend to visit are not involved in any form of trophy hunting. Only support truly animal friendly ecotourism establishments.
